Silicon Graphics Octane

I haven’t updated LJ for ages. I could tell you all about BiCon or about going to Glasgow with thekumquat and the Windyridge Games or my most recent Cotswold’s holiday with xanna but instead I’m going to be geeky again.

Does anyone want a SGI Octane? It is a Unix machine so I will not be doing my normal PC repair and re-homing thing and instead will ask if anyone wants it before I say I’ll have it. I expect I could get him to drop it off in Streatham if that would be an easier place to pick it up from?

There's a small crack on the monitor casing - it's not noticeable unless I point it out. The onboard ethernet has a duplex mismatch issue - which is why I've fitted a second ethernet card.

That would be lovely. How easy are they to carry? I could bring in my car too, or leave them at work until a later date.

I have two lcd flats, and a crt if you're interested in that, although the one currently with artremis is probably in better condition. Can carry the flats, one under each arm.......

Are they CRT monitors? If so we may have trouble physically fitting them in the house atm...

this is the flaw in my ongoing camapingn to stop oilrig hordeing so much computer-stuff - it just causes a build-up of the same computer-stuff elsewhere!

I don't think I've ever seen an external PCI card cage, if that's what it is.

I always love to rehome classic workstations, but I am at the stage where I have many/lots, and no more room. :-(
